PHANG Cunzheng
Cunzheng is a Partner in the Banking and Finance Department.
He graduated from the National University of Singapore in 2013 and was called to the Singapore bar in August 2014.
He is experienced in acting for and advising financial institutions and borrowers on a range of banking and financing transactions, including property development financing, acquisition financing, REIT financing and general bilateral, club and syndicated lending transactions.
Prior to joining Lee & Lee, he practised in the Banking and Finance practice group of another Singapore law firm, and worked as an in-house legal counsel at an Asian-based conglomerate where he primarily supported the group’s banking and financing transactions.
Work highlights include:
- Advising the borrowers in respect of their first green loan for the financing of the acquisition of land and development of a mixed-use development in Singapore comprising residential apartments and a shopping mall.
- Advising the borrower in respect of the project financing of a data centre in Ireland.
- Advising the borrower in respect of a vessel financing transaction involving a portfolio of more than 30 vessels.
- Acting for a bank in respect of loan facilities for the financing of the acquisition of a group of companies holding the long-term master franchisee rights to operate a leading brand of dim sum restaurants in the Asia-Pacific region.
- Acting for a bank in respect of loan facilities for the financing of the acquisition the global intellectual property rights and assets based in Hong Kong of the franchise owner of a leading brand of dim sum restaurants in the Asia-Pacific region.
- Acting for a bank in respect of loan facilities to finance the acquisition of certain restructured spun-off assets of an SGX-listed company and the restructuring of certain existing bonds of such company.
- Acting for a bank in respect of loan facilities to finance the acquisition of industrial land and development of an industrial building in Singapore.
- Acting for a syndicate of banks in respect of syndicated loan facilities to finance the acquisition of land and development of a condominium in Singapore.
